Thomas Ison was the sole representative of Melton
Olympic Cycling Club when he competed in the Ratae Road Club 25 mile TT which
was the last event of the Leicestershire Time Trial series.
In lovely sunny conditions the course which
started on the A46 at Seagrave up to Widmerpool island and finished into
Thrussington was a perfect ending for Thomas from which he produced a time of
1.02.36 giving him a PB.
The overall winner was Dominic Sweeny in 53.16

Bryan Fenwick had a seasons best when he competed
on the Newmarket section of the A14 on saturday.Bryan came back in a time of
1.02.21 for the 25 miles which was hindered by a steady head wind on the
return leg.

On bank holiday monday 4 members of Melton Oympic
Cycing club competed in the Coalville Wheelers 25 mile 2 up TT which was at
Griffydam.
Norman Portess and Thomas Ison posted a time of
59.51, which is the first time Thomas as gone under the hour. This gave them
5th team on standard.
Bryan Fenwick and Gary Ison, competing for the
first time in this event came back in a good time of 1.10.07

members of melton olympic cycling club competed in
the Heanor Clarion Open 25 on a warm and windy saturday afternoon. on
the A50 between Etwall and Uttoxeter.
Norman Portess posted a time of 56.09 to give him
6th place and Jim Ithell on his trike recorded a time of 1.11.08, these both
being Vets Age Records.
The winner was Andy Eagers 53.36 of Derby Mercury

Norman Portess of Melton Olympic Cycling
Club rode the Leicester Forest CC open 25 mile TT on a hot saturday afternoon.
Norman posted a time 56.51 for the A46 Seagrave-Widmerpool course for 14th
place overall and 4th on the veterans standard which gained him valuable
points in the Leicesteshire TT series. The winner was Matt Bottrill with 50.44
from De Rosa RT.
One of the biggest stage races in Britain for lower
category male riders and all category women is the Ras de Cymru Stage Race.
At 39 years old Andy Swain fulfilled his long awaited
ambition to ride it and achieved a creditable 52nd in this tough 6 stage event.
